The Japan Club at Montclair State University welcomes all students in
the community who have an interest in Japan, its language and culture.
The Japan Club is a Class II cultural organization of the Student
Government Association. Our mission is to provide information and
activities concerning Japanese Culture to the MSU community. Every week
we hold club meetings as well as Japanatainment Nights. Some of our
previous events include: Fall Festival, Kabuki Show, New Years
Celebration Event, Anime Quiz Show, Iron Chef, and our (biggest) annual
spring semester event, ChibiCon.
We aim to provide an opportunity for MSU students to experience the wonderful Japanese culture and learn the history
through meetings, cultural events, etc. Currently there are more than
300 members in our mailing list, and most have attended general meetings
and participated in events. We welcome anyone who is interested in Japan or Japanese Studies and encourage
get togethers with others who have the same interests.

I heard there is an Anime Club, but the closest club I find is the Japan Club. Are you the same?
Although many of our members watch anime and/or read manga, we are not
an anime club. We do hold some events that are influenced from anime,
but we mainly focus on Japan and it's culture. So if you were hoping for
an anime club, sorry but please join!
